Welcome to Maplewood Middle School from the MMS HSA!

 

The HSA exists to support students, teachers, staff and families through their middle school experiences. We strive to build a strong, supportive community. We work with staff, building leaders and administration to plan fun events for the kids, parents and families. We also are here to listen to your concerns and advocate when necessary. In addition, the HSA helps financially support field trips and assemblies, and provide funds and volunteers for beautification projects around the building. 

 
Middle School can be really tough, for kids and parents both. In addition to supporting the teachers and staff at MMS, we plan to continue building our community to help ease the transition to and from middle school--and to provide some fun for everyone along the way!
 
With those goals in mind, here are some things we will continue to do for our kids:
  • Plan dances & parties for each grade level
  • Bring in assemblies
  • Offset the cost of field trips
  • Help fund school events like the Poetry Slam, Grade Wars, etc.
  • SpringFest (event for kids and families)
 
And for parents, we:
  • Send regular communications about what's happening in and around school
  • Keep an updated website with useful information for families
  • Hold fundraising events that are actually fun (Trivia Night)
  • New This Year! Hold mixers and meet-ups so the adults can get to know each other
None of this is possible without volunteers! If you'd like to get involved in an event or fundraiser (planning or volunteering), collect donations, design and distribute communications like our weekly HSA Newsletter or update our social media, please complete the Volunteer Opportunities Form or reach out to info@maplewoodmiddleschool.org or president@maplewoodmiddleschool.org!
 
We'll meet every 2nd Thursday* of the month this year. HSA Meetings will be a mixture or in-person and virtual and are OPEN TO ALL. *Our first HSA Meeting will be Tuesday, September 24 at 7:30pm in the MMS Library.
