*FALL 2026 UPDATE* The HSA has recently been asked to fund some higher ticket items to help improve the outdoor spaces at MMS including BIKE RACKS and PICNIC TABLES. Bike Racks are $650 each (we'd like to purchase 2) and Picnic Tables (to go in the courtyard near the cafeteria) are $1200 each (we'd like to purchase 4). This is an additional expense to our annual HSA Budget and WE NEED YOUR HELP!

Register by 10/23 for Middle School Math Contests!
Middle School Math Contests!
If you enjoy math and like to challenge yourself, be sure to sign up to participate in the MMS math contests by completing this registration form by October 23th!
All MMS 6th-8th graders are welcome to try out these competitions at no risk (assigned math contest IDs keep results confidential).

MathCounts involves two rounds of 30-40 minutes each (School Competition)

Special Education in SOMSD
SEPAC is the Special Education Parent Advisory Committee for SOMSD. It is a state-mandated group that advises the district on issues we're hearing about from our school communities and collaborates with SOMSD on how to best support students with IEPs/504s and their families. SEPAC has topic-based meetings and informal gatherings (Cup Chats) each month so there are lots of opportunities to connect with other special education parents and caregivers.
1. If your child has a para, SEPAC has created a feedback form to track good and bad days during the Delta-T transition. Please fill it out as often as you’d like. Data will be anonymously shared with the District.
2. Join us on Friday, September 25 at 10am for our Back to School Cup Chat at the Maplewood Library. Info is here (but no RSVP is necessary):

The League of Women Voters and SOMSD Presidents Council are hosting a Candidates Forum for the 2026 BOE Candidates.
The forum will be on Thursday, October 8th from 7:30pm - 9:30pm. It will be in-person at the BOE Meeting Room and live-streamed.
