The holidays are here and it's time to show our teachers and staff some gratitude. This year's Teacher & Staff Holiday Luncheon is on Wednesday, December 21 and will be catered by Parkwood Diner.

Last Day Non-Perishable Food Drive 12/19

Monday, 12/19 is the final day of the Non-Perishable Food Drive. Donations will be used to stock Blaesser Food Pantry in Maplewood. Student Council will provide bags for students to collect the food. 

 

Most needed Items include Canned Meats, Shelf Stable Milk, Pasta, Instant Potatoes, Rice, Cereal, Canned Soups and Stews, Nut Butters (plastic jars only!), Canned Vegetables and Fruits (Beans, Carrots, Mixed Fruit, Pineapple)

Penny Wars Begin 12/19

Penny Wars starts on 12/19! Each class' jug will be in the hallway near security.

Every silver coin or dollar bill earns POINTS FOR YOUR CLASS.

Pennies get POINTS TAKEN AWAY.  

Proceeds help the Student Council stock the school store and offer other school-wide amenities.

What does a donation to the MMS HSA fund? It supports our teachers, staff, and students. So far this year, donations have helped to provide the following low or no-cost HSA-sponsored activities...

  • Teacher and staff appreciationWelcome Back-to-School Teacher Luncheon, gifts to custodial staff on National Custodian Day, and the upcoming Holiday Luncheon & Cookies for Teachers and Staff

The HSA also partners with the MMS administration and teachers on student incentive and recognition programs like the Student of the Month Award and Cougar All-Stars.

 

An $85 donation would go a long way to help your HSA meet this year’s fundraising goals. And if you can give at a lower amount, we appreciate all contributions…big or small! 

 

Now through December 31, every dollar donated to our Annual Appeal fundraising campaign will be matched by an anonymous donor, up to $20,000, through our Community Matching Gift Challenge.

Winter Choral Concert 12/14

The MMS Winter Choral Concert is Wednesday, December 14, 7:00 PM in the Maplewood Middle School Auditorium. 

The concert will feature performances by the entire MMS Choral Department:

  • Sixth Grade Chorus
  • Seventh and Eighth Grade Full Chorus 
  • Seventh and Eighth Grade Select Chorus

 

*The uniform for this event is a black bottom and a white top.

** Chorus members must report to  MMS at 6:40 PM.

***There is no charge for this event, but donations will be accepted to support the choral department at MMS.

 The MMS HSA is gifting a dozen cookies to each staff member.

 We need 125 dozen cookies!

 Please let us know below how many dozen cookies you can bake and donate. Not a baker, no problem, we'll also accept store-bought cookies.

MMS Musical Cast Participation Fee Due 12/16

MMS Musical Cast Members should submit the $50 Cast Participation Fee for this year's musical. Please submit payment online by Friday, December 16

 

Any later payments must be given in cash to Mr. Kessler. Complete one form and payment per student.

 

No student will be denied the opportunity to participate in the musical due to hardship. If you would like to sponsor a student, we will happily accept your generous donation.
